The State Administration of Cultural Heritage has started restoration works on the Eastern Qing Tombs located on the north-eastern outskirts of Beijing.
Continuing our tour of China’s architectural and cultural heritage our next stop is the province of Gansu.
On our trip around China the next stop was Pingyao, the heart of Ming and Qing Dynasty architecture. An investigation into the architectural styles and relative levels of preservation of the Qiao family compound, Shuanglin temple and the old Pingyao city and city wall.
There are different ways China is currently preserving it’s culture and architecture and in this article a comparison between two historic old towns in Yunnan is made; one with a UNESCO World Heritage listing and the other without.
